BioPilot, smuggler, sharpshooter, mercenary, ladies' man, and all-around scoundrel: you all know who he is.
(For those who don't: Han Solo bears a striking resemblance to a young Harrison Ford with a floppy haircut. He's never seen without a blaster and rarely without his best friend and first mate, Chewbacca the Wookiee. He's willing to do almost anything for the right price - the exception being slavery. Solo doesn't do slavery.
He's not sure how old he is, exactly - he can't remember anything before Garris Shrike found him begging on the streets when he was barely out of nappies - but he'd guess it's around twenty-five. He escaped Shrike some years ago, managed to graduate with honours from the Imperial Academy, and then got himself kicked out unceremoniously from the Imperial Navy for refusing to allow a certain Wookiee to be killed. Since then he's been smuggling this and that around the galaxy.
Just recently he agreed to take an old guy and a whiny kid to Alderaan...)
